From rescuing our Chamber from closing, more than doubling our Membership to our latest event, A Taste of the East Mountains where we had around 850 attendees, we have been receiving so much positive feedback!
Our financial situation is the best it's been in years, and you can sense our growth and accomplishments by the turnouts for our monthly luncheon meetings and mixers, as well as the camaraderie among our Members.
Rotating locations to accommodate our entire region has enabled more people to get to our meetings, and the evening mixers have been extremely popular, particularly for those who have difficulty leaving their businesses mid-day for luncheons.
It is with mixed feelings that I prepare to turn the reins over to my successor for 2018. It is bittersweet, but please know that I very much appreciate the support and encouragement I've enjoyed over my two years at the helm, and it has been a pleasure serving our diverse and growing Membership.
I am optimistic the coming year will continue to show progress and growth for not only our Chamber, but for all the communities that encompass the beautiful East Mountains. I will be introducing the 2018 East Mountain Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors at this Thursday's monthly Luncheon Meeting at The Legacy Church in Edgewood.
President: Lissette Carter - Legacy Church Edgewood
Vice President: David Tixier - Mags Indoor Shooting Range
Secretary: Mary Dammann - Hard Water Solutions Plus
Treasurer: Nathan Jeffcoat - Sunrun Solar, Inc.
Members at Large: Elizabeth Morantes - Bank of the West
Members at Large: Elise Taylor - US Bank
Members at Large: Tim Carter - Legacy Church Edgewood

I look forward to seeing you all there, and know you will continue to support our Board and assist in making the East Mountain Chamber of Commerce the best it can be for our businesses, friends and neighbors by participating. Each and every one of our Members are appreciated.
Our new Member Speaker will be from Education Trust Board New Mexico, who will be discussing the valuable services they provide and the interesting work they do. Lunch will be a festive holiday lunch provided by our hosts at The Legacy Church.
Here's to a bright future and continued success for us all!
Sincerely,
Nancy Carpenter, President
