Bernalillo County District 5 Commissioner Wayne Johnson, the East Mountain Library (in Tijeras) and EMIFPA are co-hosting an information session this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Library has made available the Community Room at the east side of the Library 4:30 - 7 pm Thursday, 4:30 - 6 pm Friday, and 4:30 - 6 pm Saturday. This will be an opportunity for EM residents who would like to get the latest information regarding the Dog Head Fire. The format will be a brief current status overview of the fire, followed by an open Q & A session. Be advised, this is NOT a community meeting like those that have been held in the past few days. But we will be there to address any questions we can regarding the Dog Head Fire. All EM residents are welcome to attend. Space is limited, and it will be open ended, so there is no specific start time. Come when you can.
The Tijeras Food Pantry is will be open this Saturday, 10 am - 12 noon. This will be for EM residents who are in need of canned and packaged food after having been evacuated these past few days. Please contact Sammie at 228-9593 for details. This is a one time opportunity made available by the Food Pantry. We thank them in advance for what they are doing to help residents.
EMIFPA advises all residents to be aware, be prepared, and be self reliant. Fire conditions in our area are presently "high". As always, Report It, Don't Ignore It! If you see or smell smoke that is NOT from the Dog Head Fire, call 911 immediately.
