Our website is going through changes. We are working to make the site look fresh, clean, and to read all the happenings with the Chamber. Please mind the changes as we find what works best for our community.

    Dear Friends and Colleagues,

What a terrific time we had at our networking lunch event Thursday!  It was great to meet prospective Members, new Members and to reconnect with existing Members.

I’d like to thank Raven Anderson and team from the American Cancer Society for their presentation and valuable information shared.  It’s so important for us as business men and women to get involved with our East Mountain community, and band together to support and raise funds for such an important cause.  I hope you were inspired to make a difference in our community by partnering with Raven and the ACS vision.  Together, we can make a difference!

Be on the lookout next month for our new branding as we continue the journey as the East Mountain Regional Chamber (EMRCC).  We are working hard to have everything rebranded by the next luncheon.  We hope to have  new Chamber certificates and stickers with our new logo ready to hand out to our current Members at the next meeting, to be held at Legacy Church, Edgewood on Thursday, March 1st at 11:30 a.m.  We are very excited about our anticipated growth and positive changes, and we look forward to partnering with you all.  In the next couple of weeks, you will receive a survey asking what we can do for you to help promote your business, and your thoughts about how the EMRCC can best serve you. I hope you will take a moment to give us your valued feed back.

Please remember to take advantage of the wonderful benefit that goes with an Advanced Membership by sending us info to get your message out there, whether in the form of a discount for Chamber Members Only, a newly offered product, menu item or service, or just a general message to keep your business top of mind to our contacts, friends and Membership up to once per month! You may contact Gail with details, graphics, or anything you'd like to disseminate.

Thank you again to Dave from MAGS Indoor Shooting Range for giving his time, space and the opportunity for ladies in attendance to experience the range.  Also, a word of thanks to Debbie Goss from Chilli Hills for providing a fabulous, healthy lunch. We appreciate our Members.

    Until we meet again…

From rescuing our Chamber from closing, more than doubling our Membership to our latest event, A Taste of the East Mountains where we had around 850 attendees, we have been receiving so much positive feedback!

Our financial situation is the best it's been in years, and you can sense our growth and accomplishments by the turnouts for our monthly luncheon meetings and mixers, as well as the camaraderie among our Members.

Rotating locations to accommodate our entire region has enabled more people to get to our meetings, and the evening mixers have been extremely popular, particularly for those who have difficulty leaving their businesses mid-day for luncheons.

It is with mixed feelings that I prepare to turn the reins over to my successor for 2018. It is bittersweet, but please know that I very much appreciate the support and encouragement I've enjoyed over my two years at the helm, and it has been a pleasure serving our diverse and growing Membership.

I am optimistic the coming year will continue to show progress and growth for not only our Chamber, but for all the communities that encompass the beautiful East Mountains. I will be introducing the 2018 East Mountain Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors at this Thursday's monthly Luncheon Meeting at The Legacy Church in Edgewood.

President:  Lissette Carter - Legacy Church Edgewood

Vice President:  David Tixier - Mags Indoor Shooting Range

Secretary:  Mary Dammann - Hard Water Solutions Plus

Treasurer:  Nathan Jeffcoat - Sunrun Solar, Inc.

Members at Large:  Elizabeth Morantes - Bank of the West

Members at Large:  Elise Taylor - US Bank

Members at Large:  Tim Carter - Legacy Church Edgewood

Ex Officio:  Nancy Carpenter - Automated Systems, Inc.

Ex Officio:  Bob Brittain - Creative Award Concepts

I look forward to seeing you all there, and know you will continue to support our Board and assist in making the East Mountain Chamber of Commerce the best it can be for our businesses, friends and neighbors by participating. Each and every one of our Members are appreciated.

Our new Member Speaker will be from Education Trust Board New Mexico, who will be discussing the valuable services they provide and the interesting work they do.  Lunch will be a festive holiday lunch provided by our hosts at The Legacy Church.

Here's to a bright future and continued success for us all!

Dear East Mountain Chamber Members and Friends,

As the year winds down, the trees change from green to gold, and the air has a chill, reminding us that winter and 2018 are just around the corner.

To recap what 2017 has brought so far, our Membership has nearly doubled and we enjoyed one of the most successful events the East Mountain Chamber has ever presented: A Taste of the East Mountains, hosted by Legacy Church Edgewood. With nearly 900 people in attendance, it was truly a day of fun and feasting in the East Mountains during a beautiful time of year. Music, vendors, entertainment, and of course, samplings of some fabulous food made for a great time! We wish to thank all of our vendors, hosts, helpers, entertainers and, of course, restaurants who shared samples of their favorite offerings at no charge.

Now that we're moving into November, it is time for some new blood on the Board of Directors for our Chamber. If you have any interest in joining our Board, or have any nominations you wish to make, please email us at info@eastmountainchamber.com asap so that we can work on ballots and get your votes tallied. Offices will then be assigned during the November Board Meeting.

However, our Treasurer, Bob Jones, has indicated he will be stepping down and will not be on the 2018 Board of Directors. We so appreciate his diligence and hard work for the time that he has served.

IMPORTANT: Please remember, there will be no monthly Luncheon Meeting this month!  Instead, we will be having an Evening Mixer on Thursday, November 9th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., hosted by Magnum Steel Buildings, located at 2515 Highway 333, Moriarty, NM 87035. The phone number there is: 505-832-9525. We look forward to an evening of fun, food and networking in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

On another note, Small Business Saturday is coming up on 11/25, and we would like to help promote it. If your business plans to be open and participate that day, please let us know by end of business this Friday, November 3rd,  so that we can share the info in our ad in the Mountain View Telegraph that will come out on November 16th. Again, just shoot an email to Gail at info@eastmountainchamber.com, along with any special offers you may be planning for that day.

As always, we appreciate our communities, and our kinship with those who live, work and play in the East Mountain Region. We are proud to be at your service.

Dear East Mountain Chamber Members and Friends,

October is here, and we are getting ready for a fantastic Event on the 21st. A Taste of the East Mountains promises to be a fun-filled day in the beautiful East Mountains during the prettiest time of year. We have dance teams, local musicians, great restaurants giving out samples of their fare, and a terrific variety of vendors selling their wares.  This is a great opportunity to get your Christmas shopping done early. As well, there will be local businesses on hand giving out coupons and information about their products and services.

The public will attend for free, and we plan to "WOW" everyone, especially those who aren't yet familiar with all our community has to offer. Listen for our radio ads on KXNM X-88.7 FM throughout the days until the Event, watch for our segment on KOB News Channel 4's Good Day New Mexico (scheduled to air the week of October 9th), and please, tell all of your friends, relatives, business associates, neighbors...spread the word about the great day we have planned!

Our Membership has grown significantly in recent months, and we are so excited to be able to support so many great businesses in our own backyard as well as throughout the region, including some new businesses and some well-established long time organizations. The diversity of our group grows richer by the day, and it is a joy to look forward to each Monthly Luncheon meeting to welcome all of our member Investors and guests.

Speaking of which, this Thursday is our First Thursday Luncheon Meeting, which will be held at Los Vecinos Community Center, featuring Member Presenter PNM, who will be presenting awards to those who have made the biggest difference in terms of energy usage and conservation. Lunch will be provided by our member Subway in Tijeras.

Also, during the month of October, we are asking for nominations from the general membership for the 2018 Board so this is your chance to call on those you believe have the best leadership skills to head our thriving Chamber. The Board consists of a President, a Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and three Members at Large.  On November 1st, the Board will verify with the nominees if they will accept the nomination and then on November 2, an email ballot will be emailed to the primary Chamber contact of your business for them to vote for the 2018 Board.  One vote per business Chamber member/investor.  Then in the November Board meeting, the 2018 Board members will vote for which offices the Board candidates will best fit. We invite new perspectives, innovative ideas and fresh blood to keep us growing at the rapid rate we've been enjoying over the past year plus!

I have also been researching demographics for the East Mountains, and will be sharing that with our Members/Investors in our November 2017 newsletter. There is so much to be excited about here in the East Mountains, and we are thrilled to be a part of it along with those who support our efforts to make this the best place to work, play and live. Happy Fall to all!

    6/17 Letter from the President

Dear East Mountain Chamber Members and Friends,

After a couple of unexpected bouts of wintry weather, Spring has finally arrived, and with it the renewal of colorful flowers, budding trees and lifted spirits. In keeping with the season, there are some great opportunities to get out there and network with the community while having a great time.

Wildlife West will be hosting a Chamber Mixer this coming Saturday evening on June 3rd between 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. in their Bean Barn so bring your business cards to network. Wildlife West is inviting everyone to see their Chuckwagon Supper Show so we can all be referrals for Wildlife West. This event is not open to the general public, just members of local Chambers of Commerce. There is a limit of 2-3 attendees per business.  It is a business mixer not intended for children. Please note that an RSVP is required so that they can have enough food for all! Please contact Gail ASAP at 281-1999. Let's show our support and appreciation while enjoying a free meal and entertainment by the Watermelon Mountain Jug Band this coming Saturday night!

As well, Walkin' N Circles Ranch will be presenting their annual Jamboree on Saturday, June 10th from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. This is a fundraiser to benefit horse rescue missions throughout the area.  There will be a silent auction, vendors, displays, and other fun family festivities for the entire family, so come on out!

Our monthly Luncheon Meeting will be held at Legacy Church in Edgewood on Thursday, June 1, 2017, with great food to be provided by Advanced Member Shorty's Bar Be Cue, located in Moriarty.

As an added treat, Lions Club will be celebrating their 100th anniversary the following week, and will be providing mini-cupcakes to our group for dessert! Please help us congratulate the Lions, including our very own Gerry and Bob Jones.

In addition to the great food and sweet dessert treat, there will be special goodies for each and every Member present from Advanced Member Tiny Bubbles Lovable Soaps, presented by Alexandra Pinto Paniagua -- so be there!

We have door prizes to give away too, so remember to drop your business card in the pail when you register at the door.

The door prizes are a chocolate truffle filled East Mountain Chamber mug and a fresh bamboo body wash with its bath poof from Tiny Bubbles Lovable Soaps.

As of May 1, 2017, all East Mountain Chamber Members have a 10% Discount in purchases from www.TinyBubblesLovableSoaps.com - through the web or in person.  You just have to use Discount Code EMCC10 at checkout.

    ...and REMEMBER:

Dress in Western Garb to celebrate Cowboy Days in the East Mountains. Our featured Speaker this month will be our very own Barbara Ormond of SASS, a/k/a Cat Ballou, and her husband Tex. They will be providing lots of info about their upcoming event, End of Trail, which brings so many visitors (and their business) to our Communities each year! Their presentation will be one you sure don't want to miss!

Additionally, a few members on the Social Media Committee Natalie Fallbach of Academy Mortgage and Alexandra Pinto Paniagua of Tiny Bubbles Lovable Soaps, LLC. will be reaching out to the East Mountain Chamber Membership to offer everyone an opportunity to get a FREE Two Minute Spotlight Video to promote their business and an offer to publicize events on Facebook and "Meetup" Group for free.  More details to come in another email.

Looking forward into the Fall, we have begun to get the word out and solidify some details for our anticipated Taste of the East Mountains, to be held on Saturday, October 21st, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. This will be a celebration showcasing our local restaurants, who will be offering samples of their food, and will be open to the general public for a nominal fee. Other Chamber Members will be on hand along with other local businesses to promote their products and services, and live music will be performed.

We are looking for sponsors who will get honorable mentions on our website, newsletters, our social media accounts, etc. from now until the event is held.  We hope you will consider participating. Only Chamber Members will be offered an opportunity to set up a table at no charge, so reserve yours soon! The event will be hosted by the Legacy Church, Edgewood.

You will be hearing our Executive Director Gail Rossi's Public Service Announcement broadcast daily on in-kind Member KXNM radio, X88.7 FM, with monthly "teasers" offering more and more info as the date draws near! We will be promoting this event in a big way, so save the date, and plan on making your presence known and having fun, eating great food, networking, and listening to live music. There will be bouncy houses for the little ones so bring the family and be sure invite your friends!

Don't forget: This is YOUR Chamber, and we are here to support you -- our local businesses and residents. Please participate, and let your voice be heard!
