East Mountain Chamber of Commerce General Meeting Minutes
October 6, 2011
President Suzy Clay called the meeting to order at 11:48am
at the Los Vecinos Community Center.
Board Members present were: Suzy Clay, Peggy Moeller-
Mead, Bob Brittain, Deea Emmons. Board members absent
were Linda Eaglefeather, David Saegart and Paul Mendoza.
Guest Speaker: Deputy U.S. Marshall Todd Kozuszko and his
dog Hope. Marshall Kozuszko gave us an overview as to
what services he and Hope provide, training that prepared
Hope for her job. Only Labrador Retrievers are used due to
their strong food drive and friendly floppy ears. The Marshall
and Hope live, work and travel together. Their job is to
enforce and provide protection by Hope’s ability to
recognize and identify gun powder, explosives. This teams
works the Super Bowl, Republican and Democratic
Conventions, motorcades of officials, Supreme Justices,
etc. The Marshall then let Hope go to work at our meeting
and yes she identified two planted items. The Marshall can

Current Member Presentation: Cedar Crest Tire - Kevin &
Cindy Barr. Kevin Barr explained they opened in 1984 with 1
bay and 2 employees and now employ a team of 15. They are
a full service tire & repair shop, offer free pick up & delivery,
a AAA approved repair center, provide emission testing and
service several fleets in Albuquerque and Edgewood. Cedar
Crest Tire has a full line of winter tires, tire chains, tractor
tubes & tires.
New Member Presentation: ReMax Pros- Cara Brenza,
Yvonne Oselio, Jesse Vallez, Cara Schug. Cara Schug
thanked the Chamber for attending the Open House and
went on to speak about the local Real Estate market, the
need to be realistic as a seller, to count on their expertise of
forward thinking and their planning ability. The ReMax Pros
are certified in Short Sales. The can be reached at
281-7767- 10:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Saturday,
closing hour will change to 5:00 with daylight savings
Silent Auction was a big success last year and will be
available again this year. Peggy Moeller-Mead, chairwoman,
stated that if you want to give an item take it to the EMCC on
Wednesday but not later then Nov 28 (12-4pm), or you can
call her at 269-5079, or email firstname.lastname@example.org to make
If you are interested in serving on a committee please let
Suzy Clay know. She will be using the sign-up list from the
meeting to begin forming the specific committees.
Old Business: None
New Business: Breakfast with Santa Planning. Suzy Clay
gave an overview of the upcoming Breakfast with Santa
(BWS) planned for Dec 3, 2011, 8:30- 11:30am. We estimate
approximately 400-500 will attend! Friday afternoon (Dec
2nd) will be the time for decorating the Los Vecinos
Community Center Gym. Dec 3rd beginning at 8am kitchen
will be opened for cooking the traditional pancakes, egg,
bacon, etc. Also at that time finish any last minute
decorating. Vendor booths will be opened to Chamber
members only but you have to have something for the kids to
do...use your imagination! Santa arrives at approximately
9am, a photographer will be available for pictures with
Santa. Adults $5.00 and children $3.00. We are still looking
for children that need a ticket using the donated funds from
Nominations are open for new Board members for the 2012.

Eaglefeather, Loretta Olson, Kara Schug, Barbara
Ormand,Bill Herman,Diane Shoudt.
The EMCC “After Work Mixer” will be October 12, 2011 from
4:30-7:30pm. Location will be Greenside Café. Please plan
to attend -- meet old and new members and just have a great
Trick or Treat at Los Vecinos- October 28, 2011, Batman
Theme this Year, set up will be at 400pm and the trick or
treating will begin at 530pm and complete at 730pm. Please
have your business flyers, cards and candy handy for this
