The current member presentation was given by John Helmick with EMIFPA. They are planning some special events this spring to raise funds to help families of fallen firefighters. You can participate by collecting donations at your business or your business donating funds. The first event is Saturday February 25th at Roosevelt Middle School in Tijeras. It will be a mock event to make the community aware of the 2012 fire season. Refrigerator magnets with current emergency phone numbers were handed out but there was a mistake with one number and they will be printing more correct ones. If you live in Bernalillo County and want help in thinning your land or other environmental issues you can contact Sue Hansen Putze at 761-5446. They also have property signs available to distinguish property addresses from one another in the event of emergencies. For more information about EMIFPA contact bhdlmich@flash.net.
